Items For Sale - Updated 02/22/10

Finding quality vintage items is getting harder and harder, so I can't say with any assuredness just how many items I'll have for sale at any given time. I'd encourage you to check back often.

If you see something on this page you'd like, simply contact me through the site to check availability. Once I confirm the item is available you can either send a check to my mailing address (preferred) or send a Paypal transfer. My mailing address is:

Mark B. Ledenbach
P. O. Box 2421
Orangevale, CA 95662

Once you contact me regarding an item and I confirm its availability, I'll provide an amount for shipping. Insurance is an option that I'll leave to you. If you decide to use Paypal, please include an additional 3.75% of the price when transferring the funds to cover their fee.

That's about all the fine print I can think of right now, so on with the show...HAVE YOU ORDERED A COPY OF MY NEW DVD? *****************************************************************************************************

This exceedingly rare pear-faced Halloween mandolin was made in Germany in the 1920s. It is made from lithoed paper over wood and heavy cardboard with metal strings. It measures ~16.25" high by ~5.25" at its widest point. This was most likely a salesman sample or a store display item, given its large dimensions. I bought this superb item in 1997 through Dunbar Gallery when it was auctioning off the Hugh Luck collection. I brought it with me to the Martha Stewart show taping in October 2008, and have long enjoyed it. This is the very item photographed for and appearing in my book on page 112. It doesn't fit as well into my collection anymore, so I have decided to see if it can go to another good home. Layaway is available with this item.
PRICE: $5600.00 SOLD!

This laughing devil head has a pearly high glaze to it making it quite the eye catcher. I've owned this unmarked piece of Royal Bayreuth porcelain for many years. It measures ~3" high and ~3" wide.    PRICE: $249.99

This porcelain devil creamer was made in the 1920s by Schafer & Vater. It measures ~3.25" high by ~3.5" wide and is in perfect condition, free of chips, cracks or or repairs. This is the very item photographed for and appearing in my book's second edition on page 90. PRICE: $429.99

This exceptionally rare composition watermelon candy container was made in Germany in the late teens/very early twenties. It measures ~2.75" high by ~5" long and is in mint condition. I have had this container for many years. It no longer fits well into my collection, hence the decision to let it go to someone else.                           PRICE: $899.99  SOLD!

This Jack O' Lantern Candles display box contains it full complement of twenty-four 5-candles-per-pack packages. It was made in Japan for Halo Industries of San Francisco, CA. in the 1950s. It measures ~8.75" high by ~6" wide by ~5.25" long. This is the very item photographed for and appearing in my book's second edition on page 88.        PRICE: $224.99

This 1950s hard plastic "princess" JOL is complete with its original bale and is free from cracks, chips, melt marks and repairs.       PRICE: $32.99

This unopened package of 36 fiberglass decorations made to stick to windows and mirrors was issued by B. Wilmsen, Inc. of Philadelphia in the early 1950s. The package measures ~14.25" high by ~11.25" wide and contains owls, cats, JOLs, skeletons, witches, crescent moons, ghosts, etc. This is the very set photographed for and appearing in my second edition on page 145. PRICE: $89.99

This German flapper diecut was made in the 1920s and measures 6" across. It is in dead-mint condition with much richer coloration than what was picked up by my scanner. One of the best I've ever seen of this common diecut. PRICE: $54.99

This boxed set of Capri candles has a copyright date of 1965 on the eye-catching box. The box measures ~5" high by ~3" wide and has 3 of the 4 original generic orange candles extant. The box is in very fine condition. PRICE: $17.99

This boxed set of 4 orange candles was issued by the Columbia Wax Products Company of Ozone Park, NY in the early 1960s. The box measures ~5" high by ~3" wide and is complete with original contents. The box is in near mint condition. PRICE: $18.99

This 1950s booklet of Halloween Silhouette Seals by Eureka is complete and in mint condition. Containing 42 seals in 7 different designs, the booklet measures ~2.75" high by ~5.5" long.           PRICE: $23.99

The 1923 Beistle Party set was hugely popular and provided a tidy profit for the firm. It was sold in three iterations: in a box, in book form and in an envelope. The actual "Helps and Stunts" sheet is often missing. For those who aren't motivated to buy a vintage sheet to complete their set, feel free to copy this particular image. For those with good sense, don't let this rare delicate sheet, in near perfect condition, get away from you. PRICE: $29.99

This Halloween Pie game was issued by Beistle in 1948. There were three series of these pies. This is Series I. Measuring ~6" in diameter, this item is in mint condition. PRICE: $89.99

This is a very rare Dennison place card made in the 1920s. Up until several months ago, I had never seen this particular item before. This is a beautiful, mint item with a far darker orange-red hue than picked up in my scan. I was proud to add one to my personal collection! PRICE: $32.99

This wonderful invitation was made by an unknown manufacturer around 1922. It measures ~2.5" high by ~5" wide. Accompanied by its original plain white paper envelope, not shown, this invitation is in near mint condition with a few flakes of color off at the bottom margin. PRICE: $28.99

This hard-to-find small decoration measures 6" high by 3.75" wide. Made by the Hall Brothers (later Hallmark) in the mid-1920s, the excellent black cat has eye-catching silver highlights. There are small areas of paper loss on the reverse, but this doesn't in any way detract from the item's ability to be displayed. PRICE: $20.99

This early 1920s tally with subtle imagery was made by Masters as part of their Unique Line - and is so marked. This tally is in mint condition. PRICE: 23.99

This elegant lady tally card was made in the early 1920s by Gibson. It measures ~3.75" high by ~3.25" wide and is in mint condition. This is the best example of this tally I have ever seen. PRICE: $29.99

This elegant lady tally was made in the mid-1920s by The Buzza Company of Minneapolis. It measures ~5" high by ~3.25" wide and is in mint condition. PRICE: $31.99

This place card was made by Beistle in 1920 and was originally part of a set of three different designs sold in an envelope of six. As with many of their designs, this one was well-thought out. This card was meant to be suspended from the edge of a glass. When seen at all, most of the time the hanging tabs in the middle are missing. Not so with this example. This is mint and is actually a richer orange-red than shown in the scan. PRICE: $34.99

This complete set of four invitations was made in the very early 1920s. Each mint card is marked on the reverse, Made In Saxony.
PRICE: $59.99

This package of glow-in-the-dark "Halloween Nite Lites" was made in the 1950s by an unknown manufacturer. The package measures ~8.25" high by ~5" wide and is in mint condition. PRICE: $9.99

This rare, and very desirable Halloween-themed tin, was made around 1920 as an advertising tie-in for Steven's Home Made Candies of Chicago, Illinois. It measures 10.25" in diameter and has a fair amount of wear to the black painted areas, although the central image of a broomed witch is very arresting. PRICE: $69.99

This stand-up with easel was made by Beistle in the early 1920s, and was originally part of a set of at least six. Each has been reproduced on glossy stock paper with fairly primitive transfers. Naturally, this item, like all of the items I offer is actually vintage. It is one of the ones photographed for and appearing in my second edition on page 249. This corn shock atop a JOL measures ~7.75" high and has a few small areas of surface paper loss clearly visible in the photo. PRICE: $39.99

This complete, enveloped set of 8 paper doilies was made by Whitney in the late 1920s. The doilies measure ~8" in diameter. This is the first and only example I've ever seen complete with a glassine envelope. PRICE: $179.99

This diecut of a pensive looking cat was made in the later 1940s by an unknown manufacturer on glossy stock light cardboard. The paper stock makes it possible it was made by Merri-Lei of New York, but the artistry is inconsistent with all of their other output. In any event, this diecut measures ~8.75" high by ~6" wide. It has a light bend on the tail, clearly evident on the scan. PRICE: $26.99

This diecut of a broomed witch was made in the later 1940s by an unknown manufacturer on glossy stock light cardboard. This cat atop a JOL measures ~8.75" high by ~4.75" wide. It is obviously not in perfect condition as can be seen by the scan.    PRICE: $29.99
